Double Certification Program in Executive Community Leadership

The Department of Management, College of Business and Economics of AAU together with HLK of Jonkoping University, Sweden is offering a one-year Certification Program in Executive Community Leadership. Graduates enjoy two certificates from the two universities.

Training Duration: A Maximum of One Year at executive-level training center or Hotels¨.

Modules: 1. Leadership and Learning

2. Leadership and Working with Individuals

3. Leadership and Working with Groups

4. Working with and Managing Conflict

5. Managing Diversity

6. Practical Placement

Certification: Double Certification from AAU, Ethiopia and JU, Sweden.

Tuition* : Birr 35,000.00 only; Application Fee: Birr 200.00

Scholarship: Merit based scholarship may be available. However, priority will be given to those applicants who can pay the full tuition and accommodation fee.

Admission Criteria:

  • University Degree
  • At least two years’ managerial experience in legally registered NGO/Civic Society Organization
  • Letter of guarantee from employer (NGO/Civic Society Organization) for full participation
  • Letter of guarantee for funding
  • Passing of entrance exam

CCRDA and its members visited the IDPs in Gedio zone Gedeb woreda Tatatu Kebele

Following the briefing on the IDPs status in Ethiopia by the National Disaster Risk Management Commission Deputy Head, Ato Tadesse Bekele on the 247th GA meeting of the CCRDA membership, few member organizations and CCRDA visited the area and provided support for the displaced people in Tatatu Kebele of Gedeb woreda at Gedio zone.

The program was initiated by Redeem the Generation and few member organization and CCRDA joined the initiative.  CCRDA collaborated in the coordination and delivery of the support.  The participating member organizations have contributed in cash and kind and the support was organized in package form per family.  The package was organized to meet needs for those who are willing to return back to their place and it includes: one 1.2m mattress, 2 blankets, 2 cooking pan, 5 feeding plates, 1 plastic bucket, 1 boiling pot, 1 plastic washing pan, 5 drinking cups, 25 kg cornflower and menstrual pads.  Overall the support was provided for 300 households (including female headed household) and the cost of the items including transportation is around 2 million birr.  Representatives of the organizations have travelled and provided the items on site as seen on the pictures.


Dr.Nigussu Legesse

CCRDA New Executive Director

Dr Nigussu Legesse, who has got wide international and national experience is appointed as the new Executive Director for CCRDA since May 2019. He served as a member of  Country Coordination Mechanism for Ethiopia (CCM/E) that administers the Global Fund for HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria since 2005-2009, as Board Director of the Ethiopian Interfaith Forum for Development Dialogue and Action(EIFDDA) from 2003-2009, he was chairman of WCC Action by Churches Together (ACT) International Ethiopia Forum from 2004-2006. He also worked for as International Board of Director of Church World Service (CWS) from 2008-2012 which is a faith Based Humanitarian Organization based in New York, he became a member of the Advisory Board of the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) from 2006-2009 , and has been a Chair Person of the Ecumenical Network of South Sudan and Sudan from 2015 to 2019. His outstanding performance in various international and local organizations made him the first and the best candidate for the position that CCRDA announced last year. CCRDA would like to expresses its pleasure to assigned Dr Nigussu Legesse as Executive Director of CCRDA.
